Paper bag waist pants | striped turtleneck | heels
Paper bag waist pants | white tank | denim jacket | sandals | bracelets
It’s still winter but most days recently have felt like spring. Pretty normal for this time of year in the south. I don’t mind it though. And while that might make it hard to dress this time of year, it really doesn’t have to be. Finding pieces to wear year round, different ways is key. Enter these high waisted pants! Functional, affordable, stylish, yet practical. When they arrived, I was really impressed with the quality for only $25. I have been a fan of the now term “paper bag” pants/shorts. Shorts made their debut in paper bag form last summer and I have a feeling they will be pretty popular again this summer. Pants have followed behind and I’m all for it.
I can remember a final project I had to do senior year in college where we had to design an outfit for a particular setting and I chose Central Park. I envisioned this high waisted skirt with ruffle details around the waist, very similar to the paper bag trend. I drew it out on paper and was so proud of the way it turned out. I can’t remember what I made on the project and have no clue where it is now, but seeing trends evolve over the years makes me happy to know that I just might be doing something right. 😉
Back to styling the pants. I first paired the pants with this cutie striped turtleneck (on major sale!) for an easy work look. This is definitely an outfit I would wear to work and feel confident in. If you have followed along here for a while, then you probably have noticed I am a fan of wearing just about anything with a belt and tucking the front part of the top in. You can add tucking my tops in to dress pants to that too.
Wearing these pants into the summer is easy peasy. Pair them with a simple white tank like I did here and sandals and you are good to go. If you wanted to dress these up for work in the summer, you could pair it with this sleeveless button-up shirt. I love all of the fun colors these pants come in but as a fan of blue and white, I had to add this color to my closet.

Both of these looks are adorable! I’m adding these pants to my cart now 🙂
Thank you Gentry!! Can’t wait to see how they look on you! 🙂
