Wow it’s hot already! Are you ready for the summer sun and swimsuit weather?! It’s coming quickly! We should all be the fun mom this summer, not worry about what anyone else thinks and enjoy the pool/beach with our kids this year. Let’s be the mom that gets in the water. (Now I need to listen to my own advice) Something in me this year is all about color and prints! Usually, I’m one for neutrals, whites and tans with a few floral options mixed in. I find myself really gravitating to color this year and it’s a nice change. I think you will notice it in all of the swimsuits I found this year. No more dull black swimsuits but there is the classic navy mixed in which is always a fantastic option if you are not one for florals. I am also sharing coverups in the form of sarongs, caftans and button downs.
Fit tip: I am providing sizing for each swimsuit as I do size up in the Target and Amazon swimsuits. The JCrew Factory swimsuits run a little more TTS. I do have a long torso and I am 5’6″ for height reference.
This first floral one-piece swimsuit is a Target find! I absolutely love it! After wearing a one-piece swimsuit the last few years that has ruching on the sides, I feel so confident in those. It really flatters the waist and draws it in. The tie shoulders are adjustable at the top and I love that the straps are actually a bit shorter so no need for a bow. The colors are so pretty with pinks and greens and the back offers full coverage! Outfit: floral one-piece (M) | sun hat | rattan earrings | bangle bracelets
Another Target floral find! This floral one has the sweets ruffles on the straps and while this one does offer full coverage in the back, there is no ruching on the sides. I do think this is an all around very flattering swimsuit. The colors are so vibrant for summer! Outfit: floral ruffle one-piece (M) | sun hat | earrings
Moving on to 2 Jcrew Factory finds that I love love! I didn’t think I would love this printed one-piece as much as I do. I was going meet friends at the pool this past weekend before the weather gave us other plans and this is the one I decided on wearing! The fit is fantastic and very flattering with the ruching on the sides. There is full coverage in the back and padding at the top. I adore the blue and white colors in this one! Outfit: two tone blue swimsuit (S) | hat | earrings
I think if you have a fancy beach/island vacation, absolutely pack this one! Have you heard of the term going around “coastal grandmother?” This gives me all the coastal mom vibes. Another full coverage swimsuit with subtle ruffle details on the straps and around the top of the swimsuit. The blue and white print is so sweet! This one does not have the ruching on the sides. Outfit: ruffle one piece swimsuit (S) | sun hat | rattan earrings | gold bracelets
This next swimsuit is a very flattering take your kids to the pool swimsuit. It’s a wrap swimsuit that has an adjustable tie on the side so you can pull it tight to your liking. No ruching on the sides but the tie waist makes it very flattering. I picked a classic navy as this will last in your closet for years! Outfit: navy wrap one piece (M) | sun hat | earrings
I knew the Target floral swimsuit above was low in stock so I wanted to share a very identical one from Amazon I found! This floral ruffle shoulder one-piece has the same exact fit as the floral one although the colors are slightly different. If you are going for the same style, this one is great! Outfit: ruffle shoulder one-piece (S) | hat | bracelets | earrings
How fun is this rash guard swimsuit?! I am trying something new this year! Of course the blue and white stood out and I just had to try it. The swimsuit zips up all the way in the back and is very flattering. If you are looking for more coverage while being in the sun, the fabric is UPF 50+ which blocks more than 98% of the sun. Outfit: floral rash guard one piece (size 6) | sun hat | earrings
I can’t not share my most favorite swimsuit for the last 3-4 summers! This navy one-shoulder is my most worn swimsuit. I feel so confident wearing this swimsuit with the ruffle one-shoulder and full coverage in the back. Don’t skip out on this swimsuit if you don’t have it already! Outfit: ruffled one shoulder swim suit (size 6) | hat | earrings
Moving on to coverups! I love wearing sarongs as an easy way to show off the top of a swimsuit if you want to still get sun on your shoulders . If you are paring a printed sarong with a swimsuit, I would keep it simple and wear a solid color swimsuit like I did with the next 2 pictures below. Outfit: blue & white sarong | ruffled one shoulder swim suit | hat | earrings
Outfit: sarong cover up | ruffled one shoulder swim suit | hat | earrings
Easy kaftans are great to wear to the pool for more coverage. I recently shared this one that keeps going in and out of stock and ordered this one that is coming later this week. The one below is fun with the different prints and very lightweight for the summer heat. There’s enough coverage at the top to wear any type of swimsuit underneath. Outfit: caftan cover up | sun hat | earrings
Outfit: white maxi cover up | sun hat | earrings
My thing this year is going to be leaving button down coverups open! Here is a longer version that’s chic and classy! I’m packing this for a quick adults weekend away! Outfit: white button down cover up | blue one piece swim suit | sun hat | earrings | gold bangle bracelets
I hope you found this post helpful when selecting swimsuits for this summer. If you have any questions about fit, please feel free to leave a comment below or send me an email! I’m always so happy to help!
Have a great Wednesday!

Love these! For the white button down cover up from Amazon, it says to size up. What size did you get?
Hi Jennifer! Thank you! That specific button down cover up is one size. I’m a true size small and it’s roomy on me. 😁
