HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! What does everyone do for trick-or-treating? This is our first Halloween in our community and I am hearing it’s a big deal! I am just hoping I have enough candy!
Last week, my mom was in town! We had so much fun shopping together, hanging out drinking wine (it might be a little embarrassing how many bottles we went through), going to the pumpkin patch and getting our hair done! Having her here was so great since she hasn’t been here for a visit since June. Although the time went by super fast since then, I am so happy we got to spend a full week together. It was honestly the fastest week I have had in a long time. When I was bringing her back to the airport on Saturday, it felt like I had picked her up the day before. I won’t see my family again until December and I am already counting down the days! I absolutely love it here in Florida but there’s nothing like being home with your family.
I had the idea a few weeks ago to incorporate my mom into something fun for the blog when I knew she was coming in town. Adding a little something different to the blog is always fun and I want you as readers to get ideas for yourself as well as your mom, sister, mother-in-law etc. We had so much fun taking these pictures and I can tell she is learning a little something from me. (wink wink) She has always been very hesitant to have her picture taken but she was surprisingly very willing to do this with me! She hasn’t seen any of them yet so it will be a surprise for her!
If you were to ask my mom what my favorite store was when I was a little girl, I know she would immediately say Limited Too. She would also tell you that my favorite color was lime green and I was so close to having a bedroom that color at one point. When we were in Nordstrom Rack last week trying on shoes, she jokingly asked “When did you get to be a size 6 1/2?” I laughed back and responded with “when you stopped making my foot out to be larger than it is.” My sisters can even attest to the fact that she used to buy our shoes a 1/2 size to a full size larger when we were younger just in case our feet would grow. My mom and I definitely have some similarities that I noticed this week – we both love our red wine and we both know what we like and what we don’t like when it comes to clothes. Although, a few things I had to politely tell her no on. I think when you get to be a certain age, you just know what fits your body type, what doesn’t and which colors work best for you. I picked out a few things for her at Loft to try on when we were there and she was right about what fits her best. She put together this whole outfit and I was so proud of her! She stepped out of her comfort zone with a plaid shirt, the sunglasses, oh and the front tuck. 😉 I think she’s been wanting to try it out and she really pulled it off! So let’s meet my mama!
I think anyone can pull off a plaid shirt – I was considering this top for myself! Old Navy has some great options for plaid right including this cute dress!
How cute is this sweater vest she’s wearing?! She picked it up at her local Nordstrom Rack before coming to Florida. It’s sold out online but this one and this one are great options for really good prices! I also linked more at the bottom of the post. Anyone of any age can certainly pull off a sweater vest! Even if you’ve never tried wearing one before, it’s always good to try something different, right?!
I’m really into layering sweaters this fall. I think it adds a little something to it! And I fell in love with this red mockneck bell sleeve sweater when I saw it a few weeks ago. I think it’s the perfect color for the holidays and very forgiving if you just happen to wear it for Thanksgiving. 😉

You and your mom are so cute! Love this post ❤️
Thanks Jaime! It was so fun having her here! 🙂
