Hi, friends! It’s been a minute since I’ve been on here! I really needed to take some time and decompress. Life became stressful the week before Christmas and I needed to step away. I’m feeling much better now and really looking forward to ringing in the New Year soon!
We had such a nice trip to Louisiana the weekend before Christmas! We left late Thursday, drove half way and arrived in Louisiana Friday afternoon. When the little guy woke up in the hotel, he was so excited. He did great the whole trip! We celebrated Christmas with my family Friday night, then my sisters and I headed to Biloxi with my mom to have a little 60th birthday celebration Saturday. We enjoyed the spa and a really nice dinner. It was so nice to spend time with them and we realized we had never taken a trip like that so it was definitely needed! Sunday, we made the drive back to Baton Rouge and I met up with friends who I hadn’t seen in months! And Monday was such a special day for the little guy. I have mentioned here that he absolutely loves The Polar Express! He watched the movie last year for the first time and over the past year would ask to watch it every so often. Well, the movie has been on repeat since the beginning of December so we decided to take him to New Orleans Monday to The Polar Express train ride. He loved it! We ended up spending the day in New Orleans to check out the pretty Christmas lights at the Roosevelt Hotel. Here are a few pictures from our trip and little more of what we have been up to this past month!
Christmas was so special for Dockery this year. He finally caught on to Santa and knew exactly what he wanted. (The Polar Express train) Here we are at Christmas Eve mass. How is Christmas already over?!
This little guy was super excited for Santa! We celebrated Christmas with Andrew’s family a little early on Christmas Eve Eve and everyone had a great time!
During our trip to New Orleans, we stopped by the Roosevelt Hotel after The Polar Express train ride. A must see if you are there this time of year! As you can see, the little guy was over it by this point. 😉
Our first Polar Express train ride! Dockery was so excited to have his golden ticket!
Sunday night we met up with friends in Baton Rouge and Santa was there! Dockery is still pretty questionable about him.
The weekend before, our community put on Breakfast with Santa. This was our 2nd year attending and this year was so much fun! They had a “snow” machine set out for the kids to play and this guy enjoyed himself!
This was actually the first meeting with Santa this year and he wasn’t too thrilled about it!
We had fun making a gingerbread house that I picked up from Trader Joe’s a few weeks ago! Trader Joe’s is the best and I love picking up their seasonal things every so often!
He was so excited to wear his Christmas pjs!
2nd hair cut in the books! We only trimmed a little bit but thinking next time we will finally go to a little boy’s cut.
At the beginning of the month, local influencers held a closet sale here in Jacksonville. My sweet mama flew in to help me and boy did I need it! We had so much fun here meeting everyone! I definitely could not have gotten through it all without her!
We had fun picking out our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving!
The month of December (and the whole year) flew by so fast! Crazy we will be in a new year soon! I wish you all lots of health, wealth and happiness and I will see you back here in 2019!
