Buying kids clothes. Do you love it or really don’t look forward to it? With our son, I have learned over the years he really doesn’t need much. A few pairs of shorts, t-shirts and collared shirts for summer and a nice pair of slacks, jeans, sweatpants and long sleeve shirts with a jacket for winter is all he needs. Now that we have a baby girl, I have surprised myself with how much I haven’t bought her. Yet! We shall see though. She’s very much in the drooling, spit-up phase needing to be changed about 5 times a day so I keep her in onesies for the most part. More on baby clothes in another post coming soon!
Today I’m sharing a roundup of boys and girls clothing options for fall and into winter. Thank you for the request from a reader! I love hearing what you are looking for. It always gives me inspiration! When shopping for the little guy, he’s to the point now where he can wear a few items for about 2 seasons and then he will grow out of them. He grows out of his shoes faster than clothes these days. Of course we don’t want to spend a ton on children’s clothing because they get them super dirty. I stick to retailers like Walmart, JCrew Factory/JCrew, Amazon and Target and I can pretty much find everything for a full season from those retailers.
Even though I have never bought for an older girl, I thought about what they might need for a season. A few dresses, outerwear and cute sweaters to pair with leggings or jeans. It doesn’t have to be complicated! Stick to items you can mix and match. For example with the boys, any of the tops below can be paired with the khakis or denim and a jacket, pullover or vest added for warmth. For the girls, pair the pink vest over the sweaters or throw the jackets on over the dresses. So easy if you buy in the same color families. I hope you find this helpful!
Have a wonderful day!
