Usually a new year comes with the urge to get things organized. I know it happens to me every year. I wouldn’t say that nesting phase of pregnancy has started yet, but I am making myself get our house ready early this time around. The little guy came 5 weeks early and I would say we weren’t exactly prepared in all areas so I am making sure everything is done by the time this one decides to arrive. Lately, I have been focusing on my kitchen. I started over the weekend cleaning out cabinets, ordering a few things to reorganize items and getting rid of things I haven’t used in years! I am no expert in this area at all but the first place I check for specific items I am looking for is Amazon and then Target. There are a few home items in the collage below that just make me happy and ones I’ve been trying out to make life a little bit easier. I thought I would share if you are having the organizing/updating itch as well!
Meal planner | I have found meal planning for the week or at least 3 days helps. This meal planner pad has a magnetic on the back that’s easy to stick to the fridge. I am always randomly thinking of things we need so it’s easy to use this to jot items down.
Recipes book | We like to try a few new recipes a month and I found myself not being able to remember which ones we love. I am not one to print out a recipe so I found this book to write down ingredients and directions to recipes we want to try again.
Seagrass tray | I’ve had this try for almost 2 years and it has made it’s way around our kitchen to display. It now sits on our island with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. One of my favorite finds from Amazon.
Artificial eucalyptus wreath | I keep this wreath on our front door almost year round, just changing it out for certain holidays.
Measuring spoons | An easy kitchen find to keep handy for cooking and baking. These colors are so fun and I love that they are all together.
Silicon baking mat | These baking mats are another favorite in our house! I use these almost daily for baking vegetables, chicken nuggets etc. Easy to clean up as well!
Amber glass spray bottles | I started making my own cleaning spray and use these amber glass bottles. They look pretty sitting on the countertop.
Reusable storage bags | The little guy’s snack gets packed in these bags every day. They are so easy to clean and I don’t feel so wasteful.
Kitchen sink organizer | I just started using this soap holder at our sink and really like it. It’s easy to dump the water out and not have the bottles just sitting on the counter. Very durable and the light grey color is very neutral.
Shower filter | When we moved to FL, we went from soft water to hard water. I could tell a difference in my hair almost immediately. It became dry, brittle and hard to style. I added this filter to our shower head about 2 years ago and have seen lots of improvement! I still have to shampoo twice since I wait so long in between washes but I love this thing. Just need to remember to change out the filter more often.
Immersion blender | This thing is so great! I don’t use it all that often but I know if I need a soup pureed I have this! I plan to use this to make baby food when it comes time.
Kid’s knife set and cutting board | The little guy is wanting to help more in the kitchen so I ordered this cute little knife and cutting board set for him! Can’t wait for him to start using it!
Water bottle organizer | Our water bottle cabinet was a disaster! I cleaned it out yesterday and added this organizer (comes as a set of 2) and it makes a huge difference! Every water bottle now has a spot and we no longer have tops just scattered all over the cabinet.
Lazy susan turntable (I realized after I made the collage that the exact is sold out so I linked a similar one. This one has removable inserts.) | If you don’t have one of these in any part of your home, I highly suggest it! Our spice cabinet got a nice clean out early last year and I added these turntables and shockingly it has stayed very neat and everything in it’s place. So easy to see what we have and use while cooking.
Rotating turntable organizer | I ordered this turntable with the lower sides for our vitamins we use daily. They’ve been sitting on our countertop and I wanted to put them neatly into a cabinet. I know this will keep it all organized!
Cable box organizer | My friend Ja’Net from RunningOnClean blog has recommended this cable box organizer so many times over the last few months. Can’t wait to start using this to clear up cords from our echo show and essential oil diffuser.
Produce bin with lid | Are you tired of seeing these yet? I have shared these so many times over the last week because I love them and they have been so popular. They have changed our product/fruit storage and makes it so easy to wash and put fruit away.
Coiled rope basket | Added these sweet baskets to the baby’s room. They are pretty enough to leave out and love that they are neutral since we won’t be finding out what we are having.
Coiled rope floor basket | Another size basket I added to keep a few toys in and out on the floor. These could be used for so many different storage options around your home.
Divided berry bin with lid | Another favorite berry bin! This one has a divider to separate those smaller container of berries!
Produce storage bin | I had first started with these produce bins and then I noticed they kept selling out. I have.2 of these that I use everyday!
Clear split bin | This is great to organize more items in your fridge but I added this one to our pantry to hold all of our pasta boxes that haven’t been opened yet.
Bathroom organizer | This organizer sits on the countertop in our bathroom to hold all of my skincare and makeup brushes. It keeps everything nice and neat, I can see what I have and won’t forget about it being in a cabinet under the skin. I also prefer to keep bottles standing up instead of laying down in a drawer.
Stackable sliding baskets | I added this sliding basket organizer under the bathroom skin last year and love it! Very functional, keeps things that I don’t use every day organized and the white is pretty.
Bamboo expandable drawer organizer | Do you feel like you’re an adult when you add certain things to your home? I recently switched out those plastic utensil holders for this bamboo organizer! It’s expandable so it holds so much and has over 10k reviews!
I hope this post was helpful if you are trying to reorganize/update a few things around your home! Have a wonderful Tuesday.
