I’ve started sharing more skincare products on Instagram lately and I had a question come up yesterday to share all of my hair care products and skincare. So here we are with today’s blog post! I’m sharing my most used hair products and tools along with my daily skincare routine for morning and night. It is nothing profound but I am happy that I finally found a brand of skincare that I love and can see working!

Starting with hair! Since we’ve move to Florida, I’ve noticed a huge change in my hair. It’s mostly because the water here is so hard. It’s taken a long time to get my hair to how it was when we lived in Louisiana by changing products, finding which ones work for my hair and adding this water filter to our shower head. One day I will convince my husband to get a soft water tank but today is not that day. Until then, I will do what has been working best for my hair not to feel so limp, frizzy and really unmanageable after about 2 days. I like to wash my hair maybe twice a week if I can push it that far. It’s a task that I really don’t look forward to. With all of that, these are the products that I have found to extend my washes, really moisturize my hair, keep the frizz down and still have the volume I love.
I have tried my fair share of shampoos and conditioners since we moved and after lots of trial and error, Kerastase is the one that works best for me personally. I started with the most intense shampoo and conditioner to get my hair to where I wanted it to be and have finally settled on this blond absolu hydrating shampoo and nutritive mask for conditioner. I can get so many washes from these bottles!
Right after I get out of the shower I apply this Oui leave in condition that is really amazing and leaves my hair feeling so soft and moisturized. I just started using a new product that I purchased at my local salon that helps with frizz and is a heat protector so I use that as well.
Moving on to blow drying – I have learned over the years how to give myself a blow out with a regular blow dryer and round brush. With my type of hair being frizzy and wavy, I really had no other choice. After seeing this revlon round brush blow dryer, I had to try it! At first, I didn’t care for it but now I love it. I switch back and forth between my regular blow dryer and this one because the revlon blow dryer gets really hot. I pretty much always use it on the front part of my hair now because it gives the best volume.
I then will flat iron the ends of my hair and around my face. I’ve used this chi flat iron probably since high school.
Going on about 1.5 years of using this curling iron and I love it. I have the 1.25″ curling iron – definitely worth it but it does go on sale every so often!
Now moving on to daily skincare! Investing in skincare is something that has become important to me. I’m not getting any younger and the wrinkles in my skin are starting to show. I get we all age but if I can start slowing down or helping the process, I’m all for it. And I personally love trying new skincare (and so does my mom!)! My skin is very dry especially during the winter time except around my eyes – weird I know. After seeing quite a few people share Colleen Rothschild, I decided to try it out. I started with this travel kit and have since purchased the full size products that I love.
Here is my night time routine:
Starting with the radiant cleansing balm – I love this stuff! I use it to wash my face every night and it does not dry my skin out like so many facial cleansers do. It’s very gentle but removes all of my makeup.
About 3 nights a week, I apply this dual enzyme polish (an exfoliator) while I’m in the shower and then wash off. It’s a very gentle exfoliator but works really well!
I picked up these pixi detoxifeye patches and have been using them a few times a week at night. These really hydrate the eye area and help with under eye circles.
I just started using this Kiehl’s line reducing concentrate so I can’t really say if I am loving it yet. Those pesky wrinkles on my forehead have really started to bother me so I’m trying this product out to see if it helps. I apply this morning and night under my moisturizer.
Finishing up my nighttime routine, I apply this extreme recovery cream all over my face and finish off with this eye cream. This eye cream might be the best one I have found for the price – and I’ve tried lots of eye creams!
For daytime, I splash water on my face instead of washing it, apply the kiehl’s treatment, this sheer renewal cream and then begin my makeup routine.
That’s all! I know it looks like a lot of products but each of them work in their own special way. If you start with the kit that I mentioned above, you will get a good feel as to how the products work – every product I mentioned that I still use comes in the kit!
I will be putting together my full makeup routine and the products I am using currently. Look for that post early next week!
