Hi, friends! Here I am posting on a Saturday for the first time! This past week was a busy one! Our little guy went back to school and it was a little more of an adjustment for him than I thought it was going to be. He required more of my time this week, so that meant less time for the blog. Anyone else dealing with the holiday hangover? January is just a blah month! I’m trying to get back into a routine, eat healthier which honestly isn’t going so great, but that’s life and this too will pass! I also feel like this month so far has been about figuring things out – what’s going to work for the blog this year, what you like to see and taking more time to write each blog post to put more into it instead of posting just to post. I’m also planning more content for the blog which seems to be including lots of Spring! I’m so ready for it – it’s a happier, more livelier time!
With that…I am back today with my first round of Fitting Room Finds for 2018 and it is all about Spring! Over the past few months, since I started this blog, my shopping habits have definitely changed. I used to go in to a store, without researching first, and tried on whatever I thought was cute. I would walk out of the store with a few pieces without any thoughts on how I would style it, or what I would wear it with. Ultimately, that resulted in clothing that sat in my closet unworn. Now that I blog about what I wear, I think about each piece I am buying beforehand. Can I wear it multiple ways? Can I wear it year round? Is it something I think the readers would like to see? I have also started to notice that I will look at a piece online before I go to the store to try it on, and it can look completely different in person. Maybe it goes with the saying, “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover.” Something that looked unappealing to me online will be so cute in person and vice versa. The reason I am explaining all of this to you is because I think certain things in pictures on the retailers website look different in person. Hopefully me going into the fitting rooms and trying things on will help give you a better of idea of how they fit. I wish I could buy every single piece I am featuring here, but that’s not real life. I know everyone has different taste, so I think this is a great way to show you multiple pieces I am loving, but all a little different to fit your taste. Does that make sense? I hope so!
I have said this before, I rarely buy anything at Loft full price. There’s just no reason to unless I absolutely need it for something the next day. Which never happens! Ha! I knew Loft had released their pre-Spring items the first week in January, so I popped in to try a few pieces on last week. I am absolutely loving so many pieces! All of the new Spring items are on sale for 40% off! Here’s what I am loving and a few pieces that I took home. You will be seeing these styled on the blog soon!
I styled this on Instagram the other day! Will be wearing this all Spring! I’m wearing an XS. Striped bell cuff top
Poppy bloom smocked tie neck blouse
Ya’ll, obsessed is the best word for this top! Like seriously love it and took it home with me! I love it paired with the dark denim here, and will pair it with white denim, white shorts and navy shorts. So cute!! I’m wearing an XS.Floriculture split neck bib blouse
This cowl neck sweater is super soft! I wear this type of stuff all.day.everyday! Wearing an XS. Lou & Grey signaturesoft slit cowl tunic
I posted this one the other day to Instagram and everyone loved it! It’s currently on sale for an additional 50% off of $24! That’s crazy! It’s such an easy piece to throw on and go, and it’s super soft and comfy! I’m wearing an XSLou & Grey striped signaturesoft bell sleeve hoodie dress
I also ran to J.Crew Factory (with my toddler) and found some really cute pieces! His face in some of the pictures are so funny!Asymmetrical ruffle front top
Also shown with shorts for a Spring look. I scooped up these shorts for $10! J.Crew Factory shorts are where I get majority of my shorts from every year. I get the ones with an elastic waistband and they are super comfy. I even picked up a pair the summer I was pregnant and sized up. They are very limited on the website now, but they bring them back every year in multiple colors! Asymmetrical ruffle front top
That’s all for today!! Hope you have a great rest of your weekend!
