Hi, friends! How was your weekend? It’s been pretty hot here but some rain rolled in overnight and is hopefully bringing some cooler weather! Bring on all of the sweaters, hot chocolate and chili in the crock pot! I am so ready!
Today, I am talking all about a closet staple that I think any woman needs whether working or a stay at home mom – a blazer! When I graduated college, I didn’t have a single blazer in my wardrode but over the years working in a corporate office, I found myself adding them to my closet. Of course, a black blazer is a must but I added different colors like green, red, white and this camel color blazer (on sale!) – which I love! I’ve had this one in my closet for about 3 years now and it’s still in stock because it is a piece that just does not go out of style. Finding staple pieces like a blazer is always a win and I don’t have to add new pieces to my closet every year. Also, finding one that is a good fit and a good price is important because they can be kind of pricey. This blazer is a favorite of mine because I can pair it with just about any color underneath from cream to black to stripes (my fav!) This is a one time buy for sure! A blazer is so versatile for work, a work function, a holiday party, date night and the list goes on. I styled this camel blazer with this lightweight striped turtleneck (on sale for under $20) underneath. This is perfect for a Friday casual day, brunch with friends and you can even switch out the jeans to dress pants for a work option.
Shop the look: Blazer (on sale!), striped tissue turtleneck, high-rise skinny jeans, cheetah-print clutch, pointy toe pumps
Since we are on the topic of blazers, I rounded up some of my favorites below!
BLACK BLAZERS
Like I mentioned above, a black blazer is one that never goes out of style and can be worn so many different ways. The black blazer options are endless – you can find one at pretty much every retailer. I included your basic black blazer but also found some that are so fun like this cape blazer, ruffle bell sleeve blazer and this velour blazer which is so on trend for fall. All of these are under $100!!
NEUTRAL, COLORED AND PATTERNED BLAZERS
Next up are neutral, colored and patterned blazers. I like to stick to neutral colors like this herringbone blazer because that makes it easier to wear and can be more versatile. Another great option is this leopard blazer because you know leopard never goes out of style and would look so chic for the holidays.
PLAID BLAZERS
Lastly, I am loving the plaid blazer trend for fall! Here’s a few of my favorites. These look so chic with a skinny jean or distressed jean and also paired with a pencil skirt for a work option.
