We have been back from Montana for over a week now! I want to take my time writing out a full recap of our trip so it can be a resource if you are planning a trip to Glacier. It was so amazing and we are hoping to get back there someday!
I wanted to share a few things that I purchased before the trip to keep us as organized as possible. When packing together with my husband, I knew I needed these things so I wouldn’t want to pull my hair out sharing a suitcase with him. We used one big suitcase to check while flying, I had a smaller carryon suitcase and this travel bag as my personal item. (I am wearing my Lululemon crossbody with my wallet and cellphone in the picture below. I completely forgot I had it on me while going through security but they never said that I needed to put it away, as it would have been a 3rd carryon item for me.) He had a carryon suitcase, plus a backpack and we filled each bag as much as we could! The morning we left for the trip, we added his carryon. It wasn’t full but I was thankful to have the extra space incase our big luggage was over 50. This system worked out really well for us as I was able to put all of our dirty clothes in his carryon throughout the week.
(Funny story, our first flight to ATL was delayed so we arrived about 20 minutes before our next flight was leaving. We were sure that our luggage and his golf clubs would not make it to Montana but they did! And our next gate was only 4 gates down from where we got off the plane in ATL! Some things work out the way they should and this situation they definitely did!)
The picture below is when we were leaving Spokane, Washington Sunday where we flew in to head back home. I wore this maxi skirt with a denim jacket and was very comfortable all day. We didn’t get home until 2am Monday morning! I purchased this travel bag last minute and I was so glad to have it. I needed something with a compartment for my computer, that slid over the carryon handle and that fit under the airplane seat. Winner for all 3! Traveling tip: I always, always pack an extra change of clothes, pajamas and toiletry items such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, extra contacts, my glasses and my makeup all in the carryon bag just incase our luggage doesn’t arrive.
These packing cubes are an organization lifesaver and fits so well in the luggage. I have had this 3-piece set for a few years now and they have really held up! I can fit so much in them but be sure to not overpack the larger suitcase because it can easily get to over 50lbs! This toiletry bag hangs on the back of bathroom doors and fits all of your items! This was our first time using this electronic organizer and I will say my husband really loved this! We kept our phone charges, ear buds and additional chargers in it. I forgot to include this heat resistant travel pouch below but this really came in handy! I could fit both my flat iron and curling iron in here. My hair is the last thing I do while getting dressed and when we are packing up, I usually have to wait for them to cool. I could easily put both in the pouch and stick them in my suitcase without worrying about them being too hot. One tip I learned years ago is that the cords will get a short in them if they are continuously wrapped around for storage so I always leave mine unwrapped. It’s not as neat but my flat iron, curling iron and blow dryer all have lasted years since I stopped doing this.

What are some of your must-have travel items?! If you are traveling soon, I highly suggest all of these that I shared with you today! If you are traveling with kids and packing everything together, try the packing cubes! Each kid can have their own cube and it will keep you from wanting to pull your hair out.
Cheers!
