Cheers to Friday! It has been a long week over here so I am ready for the weekend. There’s been so much on my mind lately about this season of life and motherhood in general. I’ve been drafting a post and hopefully I get the courage to share it. It’s not my typical post here but I have always enjoyed reading other mother’s experiences so maybe one of you can relate to it. We shall see. What’s going on this weekend? The little guy has a basketball game tomorrow morning and we will be hopefully playing golf Sunday. Well, my husband and the little guy. I will just ride in the cart with Lydia Grace and watch. It’s our favorite.
It’s been a while since I have shared a 5 things on a Friday post. There’s quite a few things I’ve been loving and answering 2 questions I had recently in DMs.
ONE. I shared this Lululemon crossbody in Sunday finds a few weeks ago and it’s been a top seller. I didn’t realize so many of you would be into this trend – wearing a fanny pack as a crossbody. Let’s make it easy for us moms that need to be hands free! I’m here for it. I styled it below earlier in the week as a super easy and casual way to wear it. It does come in more colors so if you want to add a little color to your spring outfits, I say go for it! We are headed to Disney in a few months and this will be my bag of choice! It actually holds so much! Outfit details: turtleneck sweater | high waisted leggings | sneakers | crossbody | bracelets
TWO. I recently had a question that asked for me to share weeknight dinners. We do a lot of the same – spaghetti, lasagna, tacos, chicken fajitas, salmon, quesadillas. I like to switch it up during the week. If we do chicken one night, we have red meat or fish the next. If you follow me on Pinterest, I have a “FOOD” board that I have pinned recipes to for probably the last 8-9 years. There’s so many there! I am always referring back to it if I am not making a recipe from “The Defined Dish” or “The Comfortable Kitchen” cookbook. One of my easy, go-to crockpot recipes is what I like to call chicken bowls. Here’s the simple recipe:
Add 1-1.5lbs chicken breast to crockpot. Top with 1 can rotel, taco seasoning (I always search pinterest for a recipe and make extra to keep handy), add about 1/2 cup chicken broth. Let that cook for 4-6 hours. You can add corn and/or beans to it about 30 minutes before it’s done. Serve over rice, top with cheese, avocado and sour cream. Delish and easy!
THREE. This has been my nightly skincare routine for the last couple of weeks and I love how hydrated my skin feels. I really do think the Colleen Rothschild radiance serum makes a huge difference. I wake up and my skin is glowing, like I don’t want to wash it off glowing. Toner first, then I apply the serum and lastly top with the Biossance moisturizer (I use this morning and night).
FOUR. I thought a quadruple amount of times if I wanted to share this picture but yall this/was my pantry. It’s been an eye sore for many months now and not functioning well at all. I’m pretty embarrassed and I can’t believe I am sharing this picture, but I have been slowly working this week taking everything out, ordering new organizing bins and putting things back in slowly. This.is.real.life. I realized I’m not someone who likes things hidden so everything I have ordered is clear, that way I can walk in, see what I have and not have to search for something. The amount of stuff I have gotten rid of and/or will be reorganized to our laundry room is insane! I am left with so much more space. Once all of my bins come in and I get things organized, I will share a finished product. It won’t be Pinterest worthy by any means but it will function for us. (ps. ignore the alcohol that traveled with us from our last home 5 years ago, the excessive amount of peanut butter and our water supply; always have to be prepared for a hurricane!)
Here are a few things that I have ordered. By the way, my spice and oil cabinet has stayed pretty well organized for the last 2 years with the help of these turntable organizers. Highly recommend!
FIVE. Oh hello new arrivals from Walmart! These caught my eye.
Have a wonderful weekend!
