Good morning! I hope you are having a wonderful week! I’ve been thinking about everything that’s happening in the south, especially in Texas. My heart is heavy for everyone and I wish I could send food, water and heat their way. If you are one of those being affected, please know you have been in my prayers all week.
With the 2nd trimester coming to an end very soon, I thought it would be fun to share a few items that made the 1st and 2nd trimester a little easier. I can remember in the 1st trimester, it was about simply making it through the day. Lots of carbs were eaten and short naps were necessary. The belly started growing around 9-10 weeks, so I switched over to maternity leggings and denim pretty early on. I did wear these extremely comfortable leggings up until about 22 weeks. I was so glad I purchased them a few months before I found out I was pregnant. My energy started to come back a few weeks into the 2nd trimester and the nausea subsided around 15-16 weeks. Food aversions were the worst and nothing seemed satisfying in the 1st trimester. It has been the strangest thing but chicken has been the main food causing it, even to this day at 26 weeks I have to be careful with it or a touch of nausea will kick in. I wouldn’t say I used any particular item to ease the nausea, I just gave it time to let it pass because I knew it would eventually.
My skin gets really dry during the winter time and lately I’ve noticed some skin discoloration but I found this amazing skincare line that I’ve been so happy with! I am thankful to be sleeping fairly well still. I have those restless hours from about 2-3am, but for the most part I can get myself back to sleep. The nightgowns that I am sharing below have been some of my favorites for the last few weeks.
Looking forward to the 3rd trimester, warmer weather for wearing dresses and getting lots of house projects done! That’s mainly what we are focusing on and I haven’t spent too much time decorating the nursery lately. We have the essentials and I feel like I will take the time to decorate once we know what this little baby is.
Bliss perfection bikini | I picked these up at the end of last year and I have been meaning to order more because they are that comfortable! They are one size and have grown with the bump over the last few weeks. A tad expensive but they have washed so well!
New balance sneakers | These shoes have saved my back and legs when walking around the house and when I’m out and about. I have them in 2 colors (one for inside and a pair for outside) and can’t recommend these sneakers enough! They are so comfortable, lightweight and I didn’t need any time to break them in.
Nightgown, nightgown | I said goodbye to regular pajama sets weeks ago with shorts. I do miss them but these nightgowns have been very comfortable to sleep in and will be worn once the baby is here too. They are roomy so I have plenty of room for the bump. Very soft and lightweight for sleeping.
Ritual prenatal vitamins | I started these prenatal vitamins early in the 1st trimester after switching from a gummy that wasn’t my friend while feeling very nauseous during the 1st trimester. I love the convenience of these showing up on your doorstep every month!
Tonic body treatment oil | This tonic oil has been great! This is a product I started using later in the 1st trimester and still switch between my lavender lotion and gentle baby oil from Young Living. I apply this in the shower and rinse off. Get it 15% off here!
Biossance eye cream | This is a line that I found right when I pregnant and after doing research, I was really impressed how the whole brand is clean, non-toxic, vegan, paraben free and doesn’t use fragrances. This eye cream is wonderful! From the beginning of this pregnancy, I am up in the middle of the night for at least an hour or 2. I apply at night and can definitely tell this helps with hydration and dark circles from a little less sleep these days.
Biossance vitamin C oil | Over the last few weeks, I have started noticing a little discoloring in my skin and this time of year my skin gets really dry. I have loved this vitamin C oil since I started using it a few months ago. It helps with hydration, elasticity and brightens all at the same time! I apply this at night over my favorite moisturizer as my last step.
Supergoop Glowscreen | I adore this brand and have been using the sunscreen the last few years. I tried out this glowscreen with SPF 40 last year and still use it a few times a week. This is great for days when I am not applying a full face of makeup, which are most days right now. I also use this product during the summer going to the pool and it works great! This will definitely be a product I reach for when the little one is here.
Water cup | Is it weird to love a water cup so much? This thing has been attached to my hips since I found out I was pregnant. I’ve had the strangest pregnancy quirk with needing my water to be super cold when I drink it and this cup keeps it cold for hours! I try to drink at least 3-4 refills a day.
Core 10 leggings | These leggings were on repeat up until about 22ish weeks. I wore these not pregnant as well and was so surprised at how comfortable they were up until a few weeks ago. They thankfully have not stretched out at all so I will definitely wear these once I’m not pregnant anymore.
Maternity leggings | These were the first pair of maternity leggings I bought and have been so happy with them! I wear these an embarrassing amount of times a week. They wash so well and I know I will continue to wear these the rest of the pregnancy.
Maternity denim | I knew I only wanted to invest in one pair of maternity denim this time around. I have been wearing these since late into the 1st trimester and they are extremely comfortable and stretchy! They are a tad short on me at 5’6″ so I don’t recommend drying.
What are a few things that have made the 1st and 2nd trimester easier on you?
